Open Position - Consultant

Vodori is a Chicago-based online marketing consultancy. We do all things web for pharmaceutical and medical diagnostics companies and a host of mid-market businesses. Founded by former Braun Consulting / Fair Isaac colleagues, Vodori is in high-growth mode and is seeking talented, entrepreneurial individuals to join the team.  What the heck does Vodori mean? The Vodori name is derived from the Japanese word ‘odori’ which means dance. Add the letter ‘v’ for virtual and Vodori is enabling the virtual dance between our clients and their customers.

Much of our work focuses on creating centers of excellence for online marketing for our clients. Sometimes divisional, sometimes enterprise-wide, these platforms provide marketers with the best practices and reusable, best-in-class capabilities to efficiently and effectively interact with customers, employees, and partners.

By working with the open source and commercial software models, you will be challenged to harvest the emerging best practices from the open source community and apply and adapt these techniques for use with large commercial off-the-shelf platforms.

We are Chicago-based and the majority of our work takes place in our loft office space in a Near North neighborhood, a welcomed change from the usual consulting model.  Sound interesting? Here’s our ideal candidate profile:

Skills

• 2+ years experience building and deploying web applications on a variety of J2EE containers, such as: JBOSS, Weblogic, Websphere, Tomcat
• 2+ years experience with relational databases and SQL
• Frameworks - Hibernate, Spring, Struts, JSTL
• Experience integrating content management systems and web applications
• Thorough understanding of CSS concepts and experience integrating with web applications
• Ability to multi-task
• Excellent written/communication skills

Experience:

• Design/build web application components including Hibernate mappings, authentication and data encryption, content management system integration, etc
• Work with designers to integrate CSS elements and designs into web applications
• Perform Web server configurations (such as virtual host configurations and re-write rules)
• Deploy application components to hosted environments using tools such as Maven
