So, what exactly do you do around here?

Recently, a lot of my time has been devoted to the development of Pepper 3. I have been working on perfecting our final product with improvements and new features. I’ve also begun working on client projects, which is a really exciting change of pace.

What sites do you visit most often?

Without a doubt, the site I visit most often (if we’re not including Facebook here!) is I spend a lot of time there both asking and answering questions. I think it’s a great resource for all types of programmers.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

I do a number of things when I’m not a work. I’m a member of Barrel of Monkeys, which is a local arts education theater ensemble. We teach kids about creative writing and turn their stories into plays. When I’m not at work, I am often performing at schools or in our weekly public show, “That’s Weird Grandma”.

I am also the webmaster and podcaster for Nerd Nite, a global organization that hosts monthly nerd events.

What’s the “nerdiest” topic you’ve ever discussed on Nerd Nite?

The next podcast is actually a pretty nerdy one. For 45 minutes, I discuss the use of exocentric compounds, which are compound nouns where the head noun does not accurately describe the word. For example, a scarecrow is not a crow but rather something that scares a crow. On the other hand a dump-truck is actually a truck.

If you had a super power what would it be?

I’m a big fan of Nightcrawler, so my desired superpower would have to be teleportation.

Where would you teleport to?

Well, every day I could teleport from work to home and home to work! I can avoid all the traffic and have an enjoyable commute! Aside from that, I would also take some weekend vacations to various tropical islands.

Do you have a theme song?

I think it would have to be “The Spanish Flea” because it’s funny. There’s a Simpsons clip where Homer is sitting in a parking lot singing “The Spanish Flea” to himself. Maybe you could say I strongly identify with Homer Simpson.

What is your definition of a Vodorian?

I think that all of the people who work here are extremely passionate about what they do. They are interested in not just the task at hand by also in how they can do it better.
